As with any specialist service, there is a formal process for making a referral to Spectrum. This process is designed to provide us with all the information we need to determine the most appropriate role that we, or other services, have in someone’s treatment.

Everyone referred to Spectrum for treatment requires an initial assessment by Spectrum clinicians. A referral is needed from your Area Mental Health Service clinician before an assessment can be scheduled. Please phone our Intake Service staff during office hours, Monday to Friday (Melbourne time) on (03) 8413 8750, to discuss treatment options.

If you’re currently receiving treatment from an Area Mental Health Service, your case manager will be able to contact us for an assessment or a referral.

For information and contact details for Area Mental Health Services, see the Victorian Government’s Accessing Mental Health Services website.
