Psychology Group Supervision 2021

For understanding and treating personality disorders

(Open and Closed format)

This group is open for registered psychologists in the public and/or private practice in Victoria.

The aim of the group is to support psychologists in developing their capacity to work in an integrated way when working with clients who present with significant intra-personal and inter-personal disturbance.  The participants will be encouraged to read literature on relational and neurobiological understandings of personality disorder (please see a reading list).

For the closed group participants are expected to commit to 80% minimum. Reasons for absence such as planned holidays, health, and provision of care will be accepted.

For the open group there is no requirement for a regular commitment. In its format the group is open which means that you can register for a specific date(s) either in pre-planed way of as you go.  In either case you will be expected to confirm your attendance for each group.  The maximum number per group is eight participants. “First come first served” policy will be used. The group is run on monthly bases.

The primary focus is on the group working together to develop a shared understanding of a clinical issue and then reflecting together, rather than on an individual presenting a perfect case study per group.  All participants come to sessions with a possible client or dilemma in mind for presentation and reflection and the group decides together who will present.

Prior to attending the group for the first time you will be asked to fill and sign the Registration and Group Agreement forms.
